CARMO : CO₂ reporting
Corporate Sustainability Reporting with Our Automated CO₂ Calculator.
Carmo has launched a newly developed, automated CO₂ calculator to support corporate sustainability reporting. The tool delivers accurate data and ensures comprehensive documentation for their entire product range.
We all know that sustainability reporting is becoming more and more necessary, and is going nowhere fast, and whilst in the UK we aren't yet compelled to report to the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) that is continually evolving, there is no doubt that reliable CO₂ data is among the most critical sustainability metrics.
Carmo have worked in collaboration with experts from Viegand Maagøe, Carmo developing a CO₂ calculator that provides detailed documentation across all product lines.
“Documentation and transparency are already key competitive parameters. In particular, having data that covers every aspect – including climate impact from energy use, material consumption, waste management, and transport – is vital for meeting CSRD requirements. Carmo’s ESG initiatives, and especially the CO₂ calculator, give the company a clear competitive advantage.”
– Lasse Vinblad Thaisen, Senior Project Manager at Viegand Maagøe.
“After several years of development, we now have a calculator that provides emission documentation for all products in production. It is unique in that we can calculate and quite accurately document the specific contribution of each production stage to a product’s total CO₂ footprint. The calculator is one of several important steps we are taking toward deeper ESG responsibility.”
– Claus Ishøy, CEO at Carmo A/S
Customer-specific solutions can be calculated
In addition to providing emissions documentation for all 600 product numbers currently in production, Carmo’s CO₂ calculator also creates optimal conditions for future development of custom components.
“The calculator allows us to monitor and actively reduce our own environmental footprint. More importantly, it enables us to support our customers with accurate documentation of current Scope 3 emissions, while identifying the specific products and processes that have the greatest potential for CO₂ reduction. This will be a key asset in future customer-specific projects, where we develop tailored solutions. With this tool, we can document the impact of redesigns and production changes – and provide data-driven calculations for every product.”
– Claus Ishøy, CEO at Carmo A/S
FLEXIBLE REINFORCEMENTS ROLE
As a UK distributor for Carmo's Technical and Medical components, we welcome the drive and foresight that Carmo have for responsible and measured plastics manufacture and production.
We will be looking at how we can roll this out to offer CO2 production measurements and information on Carmo parts that we, in turn, supply to our customers.
